Meet YouTuber and Spiritual Warrior, Alie D!

Hello CreatorHealth family! Today, we're featuring a new creator who's committed to helping folks through spiritual teachings, blog posts and on YouTube!

Alie D does it all, she is spiritual warrior who started her journey on YouTube about two years ago providing a new perspective in Tarot, card readings associated with action, change, force, power, oppression, ambition, courage and conflict.

Alie's videos are truly impactful and has helped her become a fierce, self-independent and influential creator in the Mental Health community, inspiring creators like us to help others by being ourselves, no matter what people think of us.

The most important thing that we've grasped from her teachings is we must be happy with who we are and be accepting of our fears for they help us grow in our to day to life.

Whether you're a content creator or considering starting a YouTube channel, Alie is a true example of what a full-fledged creator is, manifesting the future into the now. Make sure to check out her YouTube channel!

1. When did you start your YouTube channel? What inspired you to create videos?

Oh goodness! Two years ago! I didn’t even realize it’s been so long. When I started making videos, I wanted a new way to talk about tarot. I was moving away from writing and found that I was more comfortable speaking - there was less opportunity to doubt myself and edit myself, especially because I had no idea how to use video editing software. Still don’t, really.

2. How has YouTube helped you learn more about yourself?

There is a therapeutic sense to the process. My fears have a lot of power over me. It’s been so important to confront the fear I feel each time before recording and ask myself why? What is holding me back? A lot of the time I feel like someone has said the same things as me, that I’m not contributing anything new. In that way I’ve learned that I have a voice and it is important, no matter what I’m talking about.

3. You're an exceptional storyteller. What is your process for creating a storyline?

I wish I could say I had a consistent process. Sometimes I’ll make an outline and put down key ideas to page before recording. But then there will be days that I just want to talk, and just want to say anything, and those days I’ll just set up my camera and go. I want to be the kind of person who has notebooks filled with my notes on videos, but I think I just want to be the kind of person who has filled notebooks. What I think of as my best videos have been very much from the heart and mostly spontaneous.

4. Who are your inspirations on YouTube? How have these channels helped you better understand your mental health journey?

Kelly-Ann Maddox has been huge. She’s a tarot reader who speaks very eloquently about her mental health journey and is a strong proponent of shadow work - a tool I have found very valuable - the process of confronting our hidden aspects and bringing them into the light. My discovery of Gabby Bernstein has been pivotal to my spiritual journey which I feel is strongly intertwined with mental health.

5. What is the most important piece of advice you'd share with someone who is struggling?

No matter where you are in your journey, in your process, in your cycle, there is always more work to do. This may sound bleak, but I find it uplifting to know that even someone I see as light-years ahead of me is still working through their journey, that it is no real destination, that it truly is about walking our path. We’re all walking our own paths, and we all have to show up and make space for the hard work to take those steps. It’s hard, but it’s amazing how far we can go.

6. We're fans of your channel! What is coming next? Anything exciting planned?

I’ve actually hit a bit of a roadblock for myself. I’m in a very intense place on my own road that has made planning difficult. Expect more heart-felt and spontaneous videos from me in the near future, and probably much less about tarot in specific but rather as its use as a tool. I’m working to expand my toolbox. I’ve been working quite a bit with A Course In Miracles and understanding myself as a being of love, not fear. EFT has also been incredibly useful for reprogramming my mind and body, and I want to broach that topic. I’m currently on the hunt for more tools and techniques to take me further and I’ll definitely be talking about what I find!
